Team Demo

Each Team will have the opportunity to perform in front of the judges a form that represents themselves. 

 The Event:

  1. Each team will perform one (1) form.
  2. There are no requirements on salutation, salute, or bowing at the beginning or end.  Except all team members must start and stop from an attention position.
  3. Participants must wait for the Judges before beginning.
  4. Participants must announce their team name.
  5. The head judge will signify the opportunity to start.
  6. No weapons will be allowed (1/20/2024).
  7. There are five (5) required elements in the team demo form:
    1. Synchronization
    2. Defensive Application / Reactions
    3. Individualization
    4. Showmanship / Authenticity
  8. The team will have a maximum of five (5) minutes to perform their form. There is no penalty for less time.  Though Judges will take in to account if the team isn’t finished by the time the time goes off.
  9. To achieve a WIN for a team, the team size is between three (3) and five (5) participants.
 

Judging:

  1. There will be a three (3) judges sitting at the top of the ring.
  2. The judges will not use preconceived expectations of forms/sets/movement even if they are familiar with the form or style the participant does.
  3. All judges will vote with eyes closed on winner
  4. The head judge will be the final say on fouls, disqualifications, points, or penalties.
 

Placement:

  1. Comparison Judging will be used
  2. Judges will blindly vote for the winner
  3. If less than three judges, the judges will converse to determine winner.
 

Minimum Team to Win:

  1. If a team does not have a minimum number of participants that team can not win (though they can perform and score individual and team points – just not the additional points) and the win will automatically go to the other team.
  2. If neither team performs or both teams do not have a minimum and they perform… then “No Winner” is declared. And no additional points are awarded, except for the number of participants.
 

Individual Scoring: 

  1. Each individual that performs on a team will receive a minimum of one (1) point.
  2. If the winning team has 3 team members or more, then the individual will receive an additional two (2) points.  If the winning team has less than 3 team members, no additional points will be given.

 

Team Scoring:

  1. Each team will receive a minimum number of points equal to the number of team members that perform on their team.
  2. If the winning team has more than 3 people, the winning team will receive bonus Team Points equal to the TOTAL number of participants on each team combined.
