Fighting

Each Participant will have the opportunity to fight each of the opposing team members in front of the judges.  Each match will be one (1) minute or until five (5) points are scored by one opponent, whichever comes first.

Event:

  1. Each participant will fight each of the available opposing team members (one at a time and only one each round)
  2. Participant must wait for the Head Judge to begin the match
  3. Each round will be one (1) minute of fighting between opponents.  Excluding any breaks for scoring or judging.
 
Legal strikes:
  1. All strikes or kicks must have control and sight to the target (both coming and leaving target). None can be done or be scored if the participant isn’t watching what they are doing.
  2. Groin strikes or kicks are allowed.
  3. Top of head “Tomahawk” strikes are not allowed.
  4. Face strikes or kicks are not allowed. 
  5. Strikes or kicks to spine (2″ either side) or direct to knees are not allowed. 
  6. Any sweeps and takedowns must be controlled. 
  7. Strikes and kicks thrown with an obvious malicious intent as determined by judges are not allowed and can be grounds for disqualification.
  8. No move or action that doesn’t take in to the competitors safety is allowed. 
 

Alternate:

  1.  If a participant can not perform for whatever reason, then the alternate must be used throughout this event from this point forward.  The alternate will receive the individual points awarded. 
  2. If the alternate is not available or has already been used to replace another individual for this event, then this match will awarded to the other team. “Default Win”
  3. if neither team has a participant to perform then no individual or team score will be awarded. “No Winner” will be declared.
 

Judging:

  1. There will be a three (3) judges in a triangle set up moving with the opponents.
  2. Any of the judges can call for point or foul.
  3. A majority must be had to achieve a point or penalty (up to and including disqualification). Judges can remove points based on safety, legality, or sportsmanship (up to and including forfeiting match).
  4. The head judge will be the final say on fouls, disqualifications, points, or penalties  
  5. If there are less than three judges, it requires both judges to see the point.
  6. If a tie at the end of the match, the participants will continue to compete until some one wins.

  

Individual Match Scoring:

  1. Which ever Participant is ahead in points at the end of match will receive the win for their team.
  2. A win is equal to two (2) Individual Points.
  3. A loss is equal to one (1) Individual Point.

 

Team Scoring: 

  1.  All individual points (win or lose) for a team will be added together to become the Team Score.
